It has been a bit of a year. 2020 will go down in the history books for many reasons – not many of them good. So it is great to have some good news as we come to the end. To be shortlisted, for the second time, by the Caroline Walker Trust is a highlight of the year.
I am part of the lovely @AfNutr team, four registered nutritionists that started series of moderated Twitter chats to give a free and easily accessible interactive Continued Professional Development for registered nutritionists and nutritionists in training, although the Twitter chats are available to anyone with an interest in nutrition and a Twitter account. With over 2000 followers, it has developed into a friendly community of nutrition professionals.
The pandemic hit. The @AfNutr Virtual Cafés were born. A way for isolated nutritionists, working from home, on furlough or looking for work and students trying to continue with dissertations and study, to connect and network. We used the Twitter community that had been building since 2019 to create something to help a little. Everyone loved them and so they are now part of the whole @AfNutr offering.
If you want to know a little bit more about who we are and what we do then have a look at the video we produced for Caroline Walker Trust.
Thank you to the team for being so inspiring and such fun to work with.
Congratulations!
